WHO IS OKAY BARIS?

Born in Istanbul on June 18, 1974, Okay Barış is one of the leading representatives of computer-generated (electronic) music in Turkey.
As a professional in 1989, artists who entered a music career, music series, advertising jingles, arrangements, as well as work as composing and lyrics, Turkey's Sezen Aksu from famous artists, Ajda Jackson, Nickelback, Askin Nur Yengi, Hakan Altun, Ayla Steel, Yıldız Tilbe, Serkan Kaya, Demet Akalın, Çelik Erişçi, Serdar Ortaç, Dolapdere Big Gang, Group Flirt, Rafet El Roman, Ayşe Özyılmazer, Yaşar Gaga, Kibariye, Gülben Ergen, Ümit Yaşar, Reyhan Karaca, Yonca Evcimik, Evrim Özkaynak, Burak She has been involved in album, stage and studio works with names such as Kut, Erkan Güleryüz, Cenk Çöteli, Yaşar Kurt, Gizem Çoşkun, Nez, Aylin Coşkun, Yusuf Güney, Aziz Certel, Ozan Koçer, Cemal Çimen, Cengiz İmren, Kerim Tekin, Zeynep President. His first solo album "What I Am" was put on the digital platform in 2011. The album consists of 10 songs and the lyrics, music and arrangements of all songs were made by Okay Barış.

Since 2016, Okay Barış has been working as a composer, arranger, producer and performer at Sezen Aksu’s studio, Lonca. Collaborating primarily with Sezen Aksu and many other prominent artists, he arranged the songs “Vay” and “Ah Felek” on Sezen Aksu’s Öptüm Remix album (2011), as well as “İhanetten Geri Kalan,” “Baba Evi,” and “Üfle de Söneyim” on the album Biraz Pop, Biraz Sezen (2017). He also arranged “İhanetten Geri Kalan” and “Üfle de Söneyim” for the Biraz Pop Biraz Sezen Remix album (2017).

In 2019, he arranged “Tanrı Misafiri,” performed by Sezen Aksu on the album Fikret Şeneş Şarkıları 1. He also arranged “Yansın Bakalım,” written and composed by Sezen Aksu and performed by Gülben Ergen.

The album Artık Sevilmiyor Böyle…, co-produced by Okay Barış and Sezen Aksu, was released on January 25, 2019 under the SN Music label across all digital platforms. Barış arranged all 11 tracks on the album. All compositions and 8 of the lyrics were written by Sezen Aksu. Two songs were written by Sibel Algan, and Yıldız Tilbe contributed lyrics to the track “Aşktan Giderken.” The first music video from the album was released for “Onursuz Olabilir Aşk,” followed by “Zaten Yaz 3 Aydı,” both directed by Okay Barış himself.

His single “Beter Ol,” for which he wrote, composed and arranged the music, was released on May 3, 2017 under the Doğan Music Company label. “Bi Cacık Olmaz,” with lyrics by Sezen Aksu and composition and arrangement by Okay Barış, was performed by Serkan Kaya as part of Yaşar Gaga’s project Alakasız Şarkılar (2017). Within the same project, Barış composed and arranged “Rinna Niri,” arranged “Sevdam Ağlıyor” performed by Kibariye, and arranged “Ah Yanayım mı” performed by Halil Koçak.

He also performed the soundtrack of the film Eski Sevgili (2017), starring Bade İşçil and Tolgahan Sayışman, together with Burcu Tatlıses.

Additionally, he has released three singles distributed across 350 digital platforms worldwide. The song “Who’s in the Cabin,” performed by Nez, has been included in a total of seven international compilation albums.
